About Me

Hello and welcome! My name is Jennifer Knapp and I am mom to 2 daughters and 3 fur babies! I’m passionate about helping students grow in confidence and skill as they learn math. With 27 years of classroom teaching experience in both public and independent schools, I’ve had the privilege of guiding a wide range of learners through the joys and challenges of mathematics.

For the past 15 years, I’ve also provided private tutoring for students from 5th grade through Algebra 2. I specialize in personalized, one-on-one instruction, as well as small-group sessions to support students preparing for the SSAT/PSAT or focused math review. In addition to academic support, I’m proud to coach students in MathCounts and Math Olympiad, where we explore deeper problem-solving strategies and creative thinking.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I am certified with endorsements in middle school education with a mathematics concentration, which reflects my commitment to both strong teaching foundations and subject-area expertise.

Whether your child needs help building core skills, staying on track with schoolwork, or preparing for math competitions, I’m here to support their journey every step of the way.
